UNDER THE STARS
American Stage in the Park
Well, it all began with Shakespeare, right? As it can be said for stage shows in general, the same can be said for the "American Stage In the Park" series in downtown St. Petersburg.
Every year for 3 weeks in the Spring, American Stage, the leading professional theater group in the area, each year takes a production outdoors to a stage at Demens Landing Park, on the beautiful shore of Tampa Bay in St. Petersburg. It's a run that began as "Shakespeare in the Park" and since has evolved to include other shows. In the 1990s and early 2000s the group began expanding the range of performances.
