Super Boat National Championship Comes To Clearwater
Super Boat International and Brighthouse Networks are bringing some of the fastest and largest offshore power boats in the world to Clearwater -- from Friday, October 2nd through Sunday, October 4th, for the Super Boat National Championship Festival.
This weekend-long family event will combine off-shore and on-shore activities. Race fans will have a chance to see these powerful boats up-close and personal, as well as meet some of the professional drivers at Clearwater's Coachman Park. The Park will serve as the site of the power boat dry docks on Friday and Saturday, prior to Sunday's race taking place just off Clearwater Beach.
Competing power boats are equipped with F-16 jet canopies and will race at extreme speeds of up to 150 mph, depending on weather conditions. Power boat racers like Miss Geico, Seminole Hard Rock Casino, AMSOIL and Stihl are some of the reported teams to be competing in the festival.
Parties at Coachman Park and Pier 60 in Clearwater Beach are taking place all weekend, with a concert by Caribbean Chillers, Florida's Premier Jimmy Buffet Tribute Show on Saturday. Parking is available in downtown Clearwater and transportation to and from the beach will be available from the Jolly Trolley.
