Legends Tour Comes to Innisbrook
This November 20-22 the St. Pete/Clearwater area will see some of the greatest female golfers of all time compete for a place in history at the Legends Tour Open Championship. Taking place at the championship Island Golf Course at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club, this is the first time this major is being played on U.S. soil.
With tight fairways, 70 feet of elevation changes, intimidating water hazards and abundant bunkers, the beautiful Larry Packard designed Island Course will provide both competitors and spectators an exciting two days of championship golf. Featuring 44 legendary LPGA tour professionals, including Amy Alcott, Pat Bradley, JoAnne Carner, Betsy King and Patty Sheehan, players will be contending for a $300,000 purse. The Island Course has played host to numerous U.S. Open qualifiers and NCAA Championships and recently completed a full renovation.
In addition to the 36 hole stroke play tournament, the event also includes a pro-am and community outreach programs like children's and women's golf clinics. One hundred percent of ticket proceeds will beenefit the Marcia P. Hoffman performing Arts Institute at Ruth Eckerd Hall, a not for profit, donor-funded performing arts center providing lieflong learning opportunities through accessiblity, exploration discover and mastery of the arts.
Event tickets are available for a recommnded donation of $15 per day and donations of all amounts will be accepted. Advance tournament tickets are not required and donations may be made at the gate.
