The sultry sounds and playful rhythms of jazz will flow through the beautiful waterfront Coachman Park when the 30th annual Clearwater Jazz Holiday returns to downtown Clearwater, Oct. 15-18, 2009.

With its diverse lineup and spectacular waterfront location, the annual free festival is known to satisfy a wide range of fans. For 4 days and 4 nights, devoted jazz lovers as well as anyone wanting to soak up some live music in an idyllic Florida will be gathering in Clerwater.

Jazz Greats
Seven time Grammy Award Winner Al Jarreau will headline the opening night of the 2009 MarineMax Clearwater Jazz Holiday presented by Mercedes-Benz. This years' event will also feature some of jazz's finest talents including Chris Botti, Boney James and the Neville Brothers. The 2009 line-up represents a diversity in styles with a wide variety for guests to enjoy. Over the years virtually every jazz luminary of our generation has performed here. Jazz N Art Walk
This year's festival will also offer something special, Clearwater Jazz Holiday is proud to announce the Second Annual Clearwater Jazz 'N Art Walk in downtown Clearwater, October 17 and 18th from 10am-5pm. This art show takes place on the 500 and 600 block of Cleveland St. from Ft. Harrison to East Avenue. Artwork of different mediums will be on display and for sale to the general public. Also featured is an Educational Youth Display Area showcasing some of the bay areas youth work and talent. Along with the orginal art being displayed, performances will take place each day on the GTE Federal Credit Union Stage.

 
The Clearwater Jazz Holiday has evolved dramatically since it began as a series of concerts staged from the bed of a flatbed truck. Now in its 30th year, this free four day and night festival joins tens of thousands of jazz fans and talents in a world-class gathering that has become one of the area's signature events - and one of the most notable jazz festivals in the Southeast. More than 60,000 guests are anticipated. The event takes full advantage of its home in Clearwater, offering music against the backdrop of warm breezes, brilliant sunsets and one of the world's greatest beaches, on the Gulf of Mexico. Admission is free to the public.
