"Vatican Splendors" Exhibit

Over 200 works from Saint Peter's Basilica, the Vatican Museums and Swiss Guard, will be at the museum. Presenting a world-class exhibition from the Vatican, of art and historical objects. From the venerated relics (bone fragments) of Saint Peter to items from the election of Pope Benedict XVI, this exhibit comprises one of the largest Vatican collections ever to tour North America. Many of these treasures have never been seen outside of Italy. St. Petersburg is the first American stop for the largest collection of art, documents and historically significant objects from the Vatican to tour North America. Big East Baseball Championship

Bright House Networks Field 601 N. Old Coachman Rd. Clearwater, FL 33765-2321  The BIG EAST Baseball Championship returns to Bright House Field May 19-24! The eight-team double-elimination tournament will begin with a special opening ceremony on May 19th. The tournament concludes with the championship game on Saturday, May 24th. The winner will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.

7th Annual John Levique Pirate Days

John's Pass Plaza & Boardwalk 150 John's Pass Boardwalk Madeira Beach, FL 33708  John Levique Days is a three-day pirate themed event celebrating the discovery of John's Pass by John Levique after the hurricane of September 1848. Scheduled activities include a Hurricane Expo, Pirates' Ball, Pirates and Wenches Auction, costume contests for children and adults, pirate ship battle and invasion of the Pass, street parade, story telling and a village-wide treasure hunt. 16th Annual Tampa Bay Caribbean Carnival

Vinoy Park 500 Bayshore Dr. N.E. St. Petersburg, FL 33701  This cultural extravaganza features colorful costumes, arts, crafts, dancing, steel drums and music from around the Caribbean, including calypso, soca, reggae and steel orchestra. The festivities take place in Vinoy Park in downtown St. Petersburg and run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is $10. Don't miss the Steel Pan Panorama Competition and Carnival Parade. Clearwater Celebrates America! 4th of July Celebration
