Largo, FL 33771 727-539-8371 Experience the fight for freedom through the eyes of American heroes, as The Armed Forces Military Museum, walks through military history from a WWI trench to the flight deck of the Japanese aircraft carrier Akagi. The museum displays exhibits reflecting WWI, an extensive display of Japanese memorabilia associated with the WWII attack on Pearl Harbor, displays of the USMC in the South Pacific, D-Day landings and German Third Reich memorabilia. Exhibits are enhanced with simulations of smoke, sounds of airplanes and tanks, and other audio/visual effects. These effects will make visitors feel like they are part of the action.

349 Main St. Dunedin, FL 34698-5700 727-736-1176 An Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Station, built in 1924, that has been transformed into a regional history center. Interactive exhibits focus on the history of Dunedin, Pinellas County, and Florida. The museum also has special traveling exhibits that are appealing to all ages. Come and learn about the history of Dunedin's railroads, citrus industry, pioneers, Honeymoon and Caladesi Islands, sports and city growth.
Admission to the museum is a suggested donation of $2 for adults, and children under 12 are free.
Group tours of all ages and abilities may be arranged by calling the museum number listed.
The museum also owns and operates Andrews Memorial Chapel, located in Hammock Park, which can be rented for weddings, christenings, memorial services, concerts and lectures. Call the museum for more information.

The only Holocaust Museum to feature continual Holocaust art exhibits, the museum's centerpiece permanent exhibit is a boxcar used to transport people to concentration camps. No graphic images, but still not recommended for children younger than grade five. Open Mon. - Fri. 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.; Sat. - Sun. noon - 4 p.m. Adults $8, Senior $7, under 18 $3. Lay of the Land: Soft sand, emerald waters and shady pines await you at TripAdvisor's #1 Beach for 2008 and 2009, which is made up of five separate islands. Ride, skate or jog on the 7-mile paved trail, or canoe and kayak through lush mangroves. Rover can roam at the Paw Playground and frolic in the surf at Dog Beach, while the kids explore the canons and jail cells of the old fort.
Little Known Facts: Built for the Spanish-American War, the fort was finished after the war ended and never fired a hostile shot. Fans of the hit television series "Prison Break" might recognize the park, since it acted as a stand in for the country of Panama for several episodes in the 2007-2008 season. Fort De Soto is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Museum exhibits trace the history of the areas barrier islands through photographs, news clippings and artifacts dating from the 1500s through modern times. Walking tours of the Pass-A-Grille historic district are offered weekly. Hours are October-May: Thursday-Saturday 10 am - 4 pm and June-September:
Friday, Saturday 10 am - 4 pm
